We are making Tuku tuku patterns in class and we all have a partner to help us make them, and to make it more fun and easy todo. Here are the steps to make them.

1. Get the things you need like a math book for the draft, wooden panels, sand paper, a board, with Raffia string, paint colours must be black, red and white and a small needle.

2. Use the sand paper on the wooden panels to make them round and curved.

3.paint the panels and board with the three colour options and wait for them to dry.

4. After everything’s dry get your needle and Raffia to start stitching and do the sides first it is a must do you’ll understand when you’re finished, sadly I do not know the reason why you have to start with the sides but I think it is cause of like a Māori tradition.
